Dear Good Earth Tours,

Champagne and roses to each and every person at Good Earth Tours, who made our Safari/Zanzibar adventure such an incredibly affordable & memorable experience for us. It was everything we imagined it would be….and so much more!

Don, (the Big Daddy – just ask Moses!), my sister-in-law, Karen Marshall, and myself have all traveled extensively and we have never experienced anything as amazing as what our holiday/travel experience was in Tanzania & Zanzibar booked with Good Earth. We cannot thank the Florida booking staff, the Arusha ground staff, and the drivers/guides employed by Good Earth, enough for this trouble free, and incredible holiday/travel adventure the 3 of us have ever been fortunate enough to share. Absolutely everything went without a hitch. From the moment we arrived in Dar es Salaam, to the day we left, there simply wasn’t a stone unturned.

Moses, “Eagle Eyes”, our driver/guide for our safari, is outstanding. Within hours, he was no longer our driver/guide; he was one of us – bantering back and forth with an ease and familiarity which quickly turned into friendship. He never missed pointing out a site of interest, a beautiful bird in a bush, a chameleon on the road (which we would have missed completely), or a lion in the distant which could only be seen through binoculars by the rest of us!

Throughout, he would check with us to ensure we were comfortable, did we need water, did we want to stop and take a break; he never left us until we were completely checked in and set for the evening; followed through with any request we had re: lunch boxes/tea things etc. – in other words, he was an outstanding host extraordinaire.

He was so happy and excited to share his knowledge of the animals/birdlife and terrain we saw, it was contagious. We shared so much hilarity in that jeep; our day would start and end with laughter. Moses had our complete respect and implicit trust in his decisions regarding rest stops (timing and locations), time of day for the best chances of seeing game and driving skills. He knew which mud routes he could plow his way through and which ones he couldn’t. He loved to tease us when faced with “muddy” decision making! And no, we never did get stuck and no, we never had to push us or anyone else either!

Our unanimous favorite safari stop? Tarangire Tented Lodge. We would’ve stayed another day had we known how absolutely fabulous it is.

The only 2 concerns we had collectively were: 1. At the start of our journey, when we were coming back from Kilimanjaro with Magnificent behind the wheel. We felt he drove too fast as he came close to a young girl crossing the highway (even though she stepped out from behind a parked vehicle), and a motorcyclist had to move to the edge of the road. He has a great personality, and seems to really enjoy people so I’m sure he’s an outstanding guide/driver. Our Kilimanjaro guide, Hermez, was a very thorough host as well. He was very conscious of our hiking skills, walking polepole; taking breaks; and so wonderful about identifying the plants, trees, birds etc. we saw on the way up. 2. In Zanzibar, the spice tour advertised everywhere was 25.00USD, took 5hours, went to the other side of the island as part of the drive about and included a lunch. The tour we were given was 35.00each, was 3hours total and there was no lunch offered. Karen has the receipt to show the costs charged by the ZAN agent for this. We felt this ought to have been clarified by Mussad when we asked him about arranging for this side trip. It was interesting and informative, however we do feel we were “short changed” so to speak, in this one area. Other than that…….. the entire 3 weeks were spectacular ~!
