Dear Good Earth Tours,
I'm not sure if my brothers or father have e-mailed you about our trip, but I want to add my two cents even if they already have. It was out standing! I am positive that if I had not had the unbelievable help of all those involved, I probably would not reached the summit of Kili. I know for a fact that there's no way in Hell that my dad would have made it without the help of you able staff.
Our guides, porters, cooks, etc, were always cheerful, helpful, more than willing to assist, intelligent, and motivating. Standouts among these were Mark, Livin (I hope I spelled his name right) and Ernest. Ernest was my emotional crutch. Whenever I began to sink, he was always right there. Really, just about everyone we met in Tanzania in general (with the exception of a few obnoxious Americans at the airport, and one grumpy customs official) was this way. Honestly, with the exception of my father's back hurting once we were in the comfort of our Land Rover on safari, the trip was amazing.
There was something that caused problems on a regular basis, one that I've never encountered in any other country. Please let people know that cashing traveler's cheques is damn-near impossible, and that if your American bills have even the smallest tear, they will likely not be accepted. One place (the gift shop at the Ngorongoro Lodge) almost didn't accept on that was simply old and heavily folded.
As I've already said, the trip was so wonderful, that's it's hard to put in words. I would highly recommend your company to anyone. Please feel free to use any of the four of us as referrals. This was something I will always remember. PS. I hardly mentioned the safari, but it was wonderful as well. We all four especially liked the Tarangire Tented Safari Lodge, and the same park.
Regards
