Dear Good Earth Tours,
After our expedition to Kilimanjaro and the safari with Good Earth, we have to give you our congratulations and thanks for the quality of the service given (we got the quality of a Marriot for the price of a Travelodge).Since we arrived to Nairobi everything was far better than expected: the shuttle bus, the people of Good Earth in Arusha.
Menghe was a perfect starting point: friendly, efficient and very concerned with our security in the mountain: checking that our gear was enough, then we noticed that your company was really a serious company.
The Jacaranda Hotel is in line with this: you get more that what you pay for with an excellent service. In the mountain Good Earth is just the best, from the gear (the tents were the best in the mountain) to the people: all the team was superb.
Herment (the guide) made run everything in a perfect way, he really cared for our acclimatisation (drink lots of liquid and enough food), confort and security.
The food was incredible, in line with the quality of your company, and also for the skilled cooker: Paul. We really thought that our appetite will be lost at 3.500 M-4000 M, but when he cooked in Karanga Camp the best Spanish Omelette we have eaten away from Spain, then we realized that this The summit night was a success thanks to our assistant guide: Gregory.
When we read about the success rate, we thought only in the importance of the route, the extra day and our strength. But after climbing to Uhuru, we have to say that we made it thanks to Gregory. He literally took us to the summit when 100 meters before Stella Point our mind and body determined that the summit was too far and the oxygen too low.
Herment and Chris (the other assistant guide) made something similar with the other two guys (it was essential to have 3 guides for 4 people, we could divide in two groups according with our different pace: they arrived 1 hour later).
Back to Stella Point after the summit, the quality of your staff was confirmed, when we met a unconscious guy who was climbing with another company. His guide have left him alone in Stella Point, while the rest of his group continued to Uhuru. When Gregory noticed the situation (very upset with this way of taking tourist to the mountain) took care of the guy, waking him up (he had problems to talk) and took him down enough meters to let him recover.
The Safari was also perfect: Walter, our guide, was very good, and spotted all kind of animals (specially rhinos and leopards). If you need our recommendation for any people in Spain, be sure you can ask us for it.Thank you very much.
Regards
Manuel Y., Spain
